authentic: homemade strawberry-vanilla milk

Finally, I know how strawberry milk is supposed to be: fresh made from the in-season fruit and naturally sweetened by a little honey and milk (yes, milk is sweet), no unnecessary additives and with a hint of vanilla. I can hardly go back to the store-bought one now.

By the way, this is a quick post as I’m struggling on whether to invest in a new kitchen gadget–ice cream machine.

That’s because I like real stuff.

strawberry-vanilla milk
Makes about 1 1/2 cup

1/2 cup chopped strawberries
1 cup milk
1 tsp honey
1/2 tsp vanilla extract (or 1 tsp? I eyeballed it)

Blend everything together. Strain it through a mesh if needed. Serve at room temperature or chilled.
